Class of 78 tour set for Fri Aug 22
OK, the details for the tour are all arranged. The tour is Friday, August 22, 2008. There are many new facilities at BHS, come out and see them.
- 3:00-4:00 Pre-tour gathering at “Doggie High”
- 2235 Miliva, across from BHS between Kittredge and Bancroft.
- Doggie High is owned and operated by Vincent Trahan, BHS Class of 1972 and current BHS basketball coach. “Coach” Trahan has outfitted this cozy establishment with all sorts of BHS memorabilia, and has expanded to a patio in the back that he will have reserved for us.
- Doggie High offers a complete line of hot dogs, as well as veggie dogs and a larger menu. Visit http://www.doggiehigh.com to see the menu.
- 4:00-5:00ish: Tour of BHS.
- Meet in the lobby of the BHS Administration Building, at the corner of Allston and Milvia (former home of the “Round Room”)
- Anyone may come, including family.
- 5:00ish-7:00ish or as long as people stay: Informal gathering at Jupiter
- Jupiter (http://www.jupiterbeer.com/jupiter/) is a pub/restaurant on the east side of Shattuck between Allston and Center (across from the round BART station entrance).
- Food and drink is not paid for, so bring your wallet.
- Look for small table signs with Berkeley High Class of 1978 on them.
Thanks to the Jennie Burroughs and the Berkeley High Development Group for coordinating the tour.

Class of 1978 Sunday picnic details
| August 24, 2008 | ||
| 12:00 pm | to | 4:00 pm |
After the Saturday dinner/dance event at Golden Gate Fields, we will meet again on Sunday, August 24, 2008.
The picnic will be held at Padre Picnic Area on South Park Drive in Tilden Park, starting at noon.
More specific details will be posted as we get closer, but the reunion committee will provide hot coals for BBQing (there’s a large grill in the picnic area), plate, cups, utinsles, and a few beverages. The event will mostly depend on pot luck, BYO everything. The picnic area has a large grass field adjacent, and everyone is invited to bring their family.
Attendance at the Saturday dinner/dance is not required for this event (although we hope everyone will come to both).
